i think this shoot is just beautiful the tones and textures of the clothes work so beautifully with the grey background. i also like how the clothes are really key as the make up is simple and the hair pushed back.
There is something really cool about this image i think it is the tones of the photo the colour of her skin and the washing machines are really similar and then her clothes and the coke can really stand out.
I really like her illustrations and it made me look at my working line up and think i should have had more fun as this image still shows what is going to be made and it is clear but it is much more interesting to look at. i also absolutely love these clothes the jackets are just amazing and the silhouette created by them is amazing.
I was really pleased with my line up but looking back i needed to think about construction more and the practicalities of the clothes as i had not put any pockets into the jackets. i also needed to think more about how the clothes would actually look as most of my designs were in jersey i found it hard to draw the drape-y affect that it makes so i should have maybe draped it over a stand and drawn from that.
my working line up is starting to come together and i am getting very excited it is weird as i know i am not making it but it is so exciting getting all the fabrics and looking at them all together. i feel as if i should have got my fabrics first which is what Angie told us to do but i didn't get organised and felt i needed to design first but now i have my fabrics i feel so much more inspired but i guess this is the first time i have done a proper line up so i will know for next time.
I felt by working on quarter scale and making part of the pattern i had designed gave me a real sense of achievement and i wanted to show that i could do it and i am really happy with how they turned out.
These are the sheets where i was most inspired i think working from photographs and drawings and then moving on to the stand works really well as i like to see how it moves into 3D.
Today i had my print induction which i found really interesting as there is so many things you can do with screen printing that i hadn't realised or hadn't had the resources to do before. i particularly liked the foil print which would look amazing on a sheer fabric. it was also interesting to see the different raised prints and find the differences between flock and puff. i can't wait to try out the different techniques.
today i went to see a single man and absolutely loved it, i thought it was quite depressing but the fashion was amazing and the way it was shot was magnificent i loved the flashbacks and the little conversations that didnt mean much but made the story come together.
i particularly liked nicholas hoult's outfit and it has made me want to be a boy more than ever so that i can dress like him.
