Dubrovnik

I had a weird stay in dubrovnik as it was the end of my trip and was on my own and i turned up in dubrovnik without having booked a hostel which was a bit stressful but i found a good one. the first night i just had a wander around and then the next day i went to this amazing island 15min boat journey away which was absolutely beautiful. i found the city just too hot and so touristy but it was amazing from high up when i went on a cable car!

Croatian Islands

i have wanted to go to croatia for about two years so i was pleased to finally get there. it was unbelievably beautiful and i want to go back as there is so much i havent seen. we took this amazing journey from vienna with a stop off in slovenia and then on to croatia and it was stunning i just didnt imagine it to be so green and hilly and beautiful. i would like to travel around slovenia as well. In croatia we stayed on the coast in split and island hopped i have never seen the sea so blue, although the idea were quite touristy!

Maison Martin Margiela Exhibition

I went to the exhibition at somerset house and i was really inspired i love how clever all the designs are. i also liked the fact that the designer is out of the public eye as he wants the fashion to do the talking and i like the fact he almost does this with the models on the catwalk and some of the clothes by covering them in paint or putting material over their faces.

Vienna

In vienna we did some really incredible things the first day wasnt so good as everything was so expensive but the next day we found some really good cheap things. we went to the butterfly house where butterflies flew all around you. then we went to hundertwassers house which was increibly and me and my friend emily just ran around like crazy people because we loved it so much. there was also this amazing quote which summed up our trip:

"the line i trace with my feet walking to the museum is more important and more beautiful than the lines i find there hung up on the walls."

Prague

My favourite places in prague was this amazing palace that we just found as we strolled along and then fell asleep in. oopps. but it has this amazing wall in the gardens that looked like it was dripping and had scary faces in it.
we also found this amazing clock shop that was just so beautiful.
Prague was really good because we did this free tour and so knew loads of the history and found at that the crowded Jewish museum was inspiration for the Jewish Memorial i had seen in Berlin. I found the graveyard incredibly touching.

Jewish Museum Berlin

I foung this day really difficult as we saw so much and read so much about why the memorial was here. I found it incredibly sad but i think that having the memorial here has really told people so much about what happened.

Berlin

Berlin was absolutely amazing as we stayed in such a good hostel with amazing people and did this amazing tour where we were shown the alternative Berlin which was so good as the wall art was explained and it is amazing how it all has stories. One story that sticks with me was the story about this block of flats that were full of druggies and murderers and no one would wanna walk around this place, the government and the police couldn't do anything so this group of artists came in and painted the ceilings yellow and painted faces on the walls and all the druggies and murderers left and these flats became really nice and it just shows what art can do. here are some pictures:

Summer Project

I have just received my summer project and have absolutely no idea what to do i went to london and thought i would get more inpsiration but i am just so stuck by the phrases. they are: hyperreal outdoors, modern rural, smeared graphic, and cultural overlay.
