Range Plan ElectroStatic Autumn Winter 12

i am pleased with my range plan. i think it is really different. but my one concern is that it might be too confusing.

Colour Line Up

I think adding colour has mae me even more aware of outfit 2 and 4 buttttt too late now.

I really like the way they are stood on boxes and i like the coloured tights but im still not sure about outfits 2 and 4. maybe it will look different in colour?

Hawes & Curtis Live Brief

So after handing in this on wednesday we found out the results. i got through to the final five which means i have to make the shirt by the 20th of February 2012. I am worried about other work but am pleased that i have got through.

I removed the darts from the back to give more room and a better fit. I didnt french seam the seams so when i toile this again i need to practice that.

Trend/Mood/Colour Board

We were given our brief for Republic. We have been asked to design 4 outfits for people to wear travelling that go go from rainforest, to beach, to bar.

I want to look at multifunctional clothes, with a slouchy silhouette but with an angular print. Using bright colours mixed with nudes. The fabrics may be coated to be waterproof and wearble in all occasions, but always thinking about the weather of the location such as extreme heat, rain and cold. Can the outfits have double linings that could be removed and jumpsuits that can be tops and trousers. I want to consider clever packing as you need your bag to be light but have enough clothing. Could the clothes be easy clean? or dry quick?

This is my final print but i think i need to brighten it up to really embrace colour within my collection and maybe bring in some other bright colours, such as blue (energy) and purple (artichoke), as my collection is quite earthy and maybe looks like a sustainable collection.

My final coat. I am really pleased but i wish i had put in some inside pockets as i do not think my outside pockets are actually useable as they aren't safe. Also i think that i could have removed the back seam so i have learnt that it is so important that i consider the whole garment and think about it as 360 degrees. i also think i should have made my collar bigger as it would have covered the zip better and been more of a statement. But this can be moved into other garments so i think it has been a good research stage.

I decided to change the collar of my toile. As i felt i hadnt really considered the fastening enough. and i am pleased with this hidden zip and flap over lapel!
